Abstract

This research aims to identify the effect of respiratory exercises in strengthening the diaphragm muscle in children with lung cancer who have undergone lobectomy. The researcher used a single-stage experimental design with pre- and post-testing methods, given its suitability to the nature of the research objectives. The research population consisted of children with lung cancer. The program was applied to the research sample, which numbered (6) The study included patients attending the physiotherapy department at Al-Masarra Medical Services Clinic. The research sample ranged in age from (7) to (9) years, The results showed that using respiratory exercises within the proposed rehabilitation program contributed positively to improving the functional efficiency of the diaphragm muscle. The use of ultrasound to measure the efficiency of the diaphragm muscle greatly helped in diagnosing cases, as well as in measuring (diaphragm muscle thickness - diaphragm movement during inhalation and exhalation)
