Stroke Patterns and Their Relationship to Demographic Characteristics and Chronic Diseases Among Patients Attending Some Physiotherapy Centers and Departments in Tripoli

Abstract

This research aims to investigate stroke patterns and their relationship to demographic characteristics and chronic diseases among patients attending some physiotherapy centers and departments in Tripoli. The researcher used a descriptive survey methodology. The research sample consisted of stroke patients attending some physiotherapy centers and departments, totaling 910 individuals of both sexes, selected randomly. The most significant findings were: The age group of 70 years and older is the most susceptible to both types of stroke, representing 32.7% of the total sample. This confirms that advanced age is a major risk factor that cannot be ignored. The results also showed that males are more susceptible to stroke than females, representing 89.6% of the total sample, with a marked predominance of ischemic stroke (91.6%) compared to ischemic stroke (87.7%).
