Abstract

       This research aims to identify the effectiveness of Breath-Flow Restriction (BFR) combined with therapeutic exercises compared to traditional therapeutic exercises in improving the functional performance and muscle strength of the quadriceps femoris muscle in patients with grade 1 and 2 meniscus tears who have undergone conservative treatment. The researcher used an experimental design with two groups, one experimental and one control, employing pre- and post-testing. The sample consisted of 10 patients, randomly divided into two groups of five each. The treatment program was implemented for eight weeks, with three sessions per week. The results showed differences in the post-test measurements favoring the experimental group in the variables of muscle strength, functional performance, and dynamic balance. The researcher recommends incorporating Breath-Flow Restriction as a primary therapeutic tool in the early stages of rehabilitation for meniscus injuries to accelerate the patient's return to their functional and athletic level.
