Evaluating the effectiveness of using cryo-ultrasound in treating ankle sprains from the perspective of physical therapists in Tripoli

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Cryo-Ultrasound therapy in the treatment of ankle sprain, identify the main challenges faced by physiotherapists during its use, and examine differences in responses based on variables (gender, educational level, and years of experience.

A descriptive survey method was employed. The study population consisted of physiotherapists working in rehabilitation centers in Tripoli, with a random sample of 46 specialists.

The results indicated that the effectiveness of Cryo-Ultrasound therapy in treating ankle sprain was moderate, with an agreement rate of 73.67%. The challenges faced by physiotherapists were also at a moderate level, with a percentage of 66.34%. Furthermore, no statistically significant differences were found in participants’ responses based on gender, educational level, or years of experience.

The study concludes that Cryo-Ultrasound therapy is a moderately effective therapeutic modality for ankle sprain, with some practical challenges that require further attention in terms of training and clinical application.
