A Study of the Reality of Total Quality Management Application in the Faculty of Physical Education at Al-Mergib University from the Perspective of Faculty Members

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the reality of Total Quality Management (TQM) application in the Faculty of Physical Education at Al-Mergib University from the perspective of faculty members, and to detect statistically significant differences in the degree of application according to academic rank. The researcher used the descriptive survey method. A questionnaire was administered to a comprehensive census sample of 25 faculty members for the 2025/2026 academic year. The questionnaire consisted of 36 items distributed across four domains: Administrative and Academic System, Educational System, Technical System, and TQM Management.Results indicated that the overall level of TQM application was "moderate," with a total mean of 2.35 and an agreement percentage of 75%. Domains ranked as follows: Administrative and Academic System 2.38 "high," Educational System2.28 "moderate," TQM Management 2.25",moderate," and Technical System 1.95 "moderate." One-Way ANOVA results revealed no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level attributable to academic rank.

The study concluded that the faculty possesses an ambitious vision in administrative and academic systems that weakens when transitioning to technical and technological systems. It recommends urgent action to digitize the library and provide modern scientific journals, supply high-speed internet coverage, establish student advisory councils to participate in planning, introduce incentive and reward systems for outstanding students, and develop objective assessment tools to measure learning outcomes in line with academic accreditation standards.
