Abstract

Physical activity has recently witnessed significant developments in training methods and techniques due to the integration of modern technologies into training programs. The goal of training is no longer limited to developing physical abilities but extends to improving physical and functional efficiency, which reflects an individual's ability to perform daily life requirements efficiently and safely. Physical and functional efficiency is a crucial indicator of quality of life, especially for non-professional physical activity practitioners, as it is directly linked to mobility, balance, muscular endurance, and reduced risk of injury. With the emergence of modern technologies such as variable resistance training equipment and devices like electrical muscle stimulation, it has become possible to mitigate the side effects of physical exertion. Despite the widespread use of these technologies in clubs and rehabilitation centers, the documented scientific impact of their use on functional physical efficiency and quality of life still requires further field studies, particularly in local contexts. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the impact of employing modern technologies within structured training programs on improving functional physical efficiency and its reflection on the quality of life of physical activity practitioners. The study aims to identify the impact of modern technologies on improving the level of physical and functional efficiency and the quality of life of those practicing physical and health activities. The study also hypothesized the existence of statistically significant differences. Statistically, the pre- and post-tests for the study sample showed a difference in functional variables, favoring the post-test. The study employed a single-group experimental design using pre- and post-testing, as this was suitable for the nature of the study. The study sample was selected purposively from participants in regular free exercise, totaling 38 athletes, representing 9.67% of the total research population (400 athletes). Individuals not regularly participating in the training program or measurements were excluded. The most important findings indicated that modern techniques had a significant positive impact on physical variables, specifically leg muscle strength, arm muscle strength, abdominal and back muscle strength, spinal flexibility, endurance, agility, and heart rate. The improvement rate for these variables ranged from 10% to 57.25%, which is a high percentage. Furthermore, the impact of modern technologies has led to changes in weight and pulse, which in turn have affected the rate of improvement in respiratory capacity and subsequently led to improvements in some components of vital capacity. Among the most important recommendations is the focus on physical and functional measurements and body composition using the latest technologies for practitioners in order to improve quality of life across all age groups.
